a dark brown-gray tom padded along the edge of the shadowwhisper's territory, his green eyes shining like the wet grass in the sun. he kept to the border, and paced somewhat restlessly. then, after awhile, he finally sat down to wait for someone to come along. the rogue didn't necessarily know a whole lot anything about the cats living here, other than that there was a pretty large amount of them, judging from the urine that marked their border. he did know though that it was not polite to walk through their territory without waiting for one's permission. |

Chrysanthemum had just caught a blackbird and was sniffing around for prey when she thought she smelled a strange cat. She tasted the air again and sure enough, she smelled a cat, one that she didn't know. Following the scent, she soon spotted the tom and approached him. "Name and business, please," she said, dropping her prey. "I'm sure you have a good reason for hanging around on the Shadowwhispers' border."

The shape of the gray she-cat flitted through the trees as she padded up. "Hello" she said, her orange-red eyes watching the tom, expressionless. However, when she knew Chrysanthemum wasn't looking, she flashed him a small smile.

"yes, actually, i do have good reason for 'hanging' out on the shadowwhispers' border." the rogue replied calmly. "the name's shade. my business is none of your business unless you are of a higher rank." he retorted. once. just once. did he ever glance at the gray she-cat beside this stranger. no, he didn't make himself friendly nor hostile. the tom's face was expressionless. |

Chrysanthemum glared at the cat. Who did he think he was? "It just so happens that i am the flower of the shadowwhispers, which means i am a high rank, making your business my business exactly," she replied coldly, her face expressionless, but her tail flicked in annoyance betraying her emotions.

he drew his lips back in the beginnings of a snarl, but then stopped. he glared at her for a moment. "i have no intentions on turning this into a hostile visit. please fetch your leader." |

Chrysanthemum nodded. "I will return momentarily," she said. Chrysanthemum picked up her blackbird and sprinted away. Once she was in camp she dropped her prey and trotted over to Whisper's den. "Whisper?" She called.

Dipping her head, Chrysanthemum mewed, "there's a cat waiting on the border to see you. He says his name is Shade but refused to tell be what he wanted."

Whisper rolled her eyes and padded out to the border. There, a dark gray-brown tom was waiting for her. "You must be Shade," she mewed, narrowing her eyes. "State your business and where you are from." Her voice was emotionless, but her icy blue eyes showed a hint of hostility. Shade could be a clan cat, and she would have to send him away. But he seemed nice. She hoped he wasn't a clan cat, he could be a valuable addition to the ShadowWhispers.

he resisted rolling his eyes. "well you obviously already know my name. my business is joining your group. where i come from? well, i am a rogue, whom goes wherever i please." the tom said confidently. |
