Whisper waited at the creek outside of the ShadowWhispers camp. She was showing the newest member, Shade, around the territory. She stared into the water. Tiny fish darted through it. Her blue eyes sparkled as she waited.

a brown tom approached the she-cat silently, his green eyes glancing around the area with interest. he came up to the creek, lapped a few drops of the water and then looked up to the she-cat. "greetings," he said simply, keeping his tone formal.

She dipped her head politely to the tom and mewed, "Are you ready to see the territory?" Her tone was kind but her eyes were emotionless.

"as ready as i'll ever be, i suppose." shade replied equally, his expression dim.

She nodded before leading him away from the camp and towards the nearby mountain.

the dark tabby padded after her, quiet the entire time. he observed his surroundings, making mental notes on every little thing that seemed to make a connection with the territory, in his mind. but it grew so quiet and hostile feeling that he decided to start conversation. afterall, he was a shadowwhisper now. and something told him that whisper wasn't a bad cat, she was just cautious of who to trust. "is all of this your territory?" he questioned, not really knowing where to start.

"Yes," she mewed, "everything as far as you can see is ours." Leading him up the mountain a bit, she mewed, "up at the top of this mountain is Death's Peak. It's a day's journey straight up," she mewed, smiling. "Most executions are performed there," she explained, her smile faltering slightly. Trying to change the subject, she mewed, "so, do you like life with the ShadowWhispers?" Her smile returned.

"oh, most certainly." he said, obviously not minding the change. "i mean, i haven't been here for long but i think it is by far one of the best anti-clans i've ever known." he let a small smile form on his lips.

"Good," she murmured. "Ok, now all of that moor, along with the forest and the river, belongs to the ShadowWhispers," she mewed, gesturing to the land. Even though they were only at the base of the mountain, they could still see out over all of the territory.

shade nodded. he liked seeing all of this land. though it caused him to wonder, how would any cat know it was their territory unless they traveled all the way to the edge to mark borders? they might have rogues or some cat claim that territory for their own and then because of whisper's mistake in scent marking, the shadowwhispers wouldn't be able to accuse them of stealing. "just out of curiosity, do you send patrols out to the edge of the territory to mark borders?" he questioned, longing to ease his mind.

"Well," she mewed, after a slight hesitation, "sure. In a way."

Whisper opened her mouth to say something, but then quickly shut it again. She should tell him. For some reason, she felt he could trust him. "There is a secret position," she murmured softly, "called the senior guards. They live out at the farthest borders. No one knows about it." Immediately after she said it, she wondered why she would reveal such confidential information to a cat who had just joined. "You can't tell anyone," she added quickly.

he was rather surprised that the royal was telling him this. something flashed in his eyes. admiration? trust? he didn't know. BECAUSE HE COULDN'T SEE HIS EYES! looking into the she-cat's eyes for the first time, he felt he was gazing at her very soul. "my royal, i promise i won't." he said with as much honesty as he could.

(lol) She smiled faintly. She knew that he was telling the truth. She knew that she could trust him. She felt as if by meeting his gaze, she was allowing him into her mind, letting hm browse through her thoughts. Their eyes locked for a moment before she blinked. "So, do you have any questions?"
