snowkit dropped her gaze, suddenly encompassed in sadness. this was a very hard subject for her; the only thing she knew about her mother was that right after she was born, her mother ate death berries to end her suffering; why? because her mother was very sick and every second longer she lived, the more she hurt. snowkit blinked and took a deep breath. "t-t-to end p-peoples' s-s-suffering." she explained in a barely audible tone.

"oh," everestsnow replied softly. "what happen to your folks?" he asked. he knew that was a horrible question to ask but until he knew the truth he couldn't do anything to make it better.

she briefly glanced up at the tom, tears welling up in her pale blue oculars. she blinked and dropped her gaze once more, a tear trickling down her cheek. "m-my moth-ther ate d-d-deathberries t-to end h-her s-suffering. I-I miss h-her every D-day." she whispered hoarsely. a part of her wanted to be a shaman so much, because then she could see her mother once more in her full glory, not the dirty, dying, she-cat she saw on the outside before her mothers death. she would wrap her up in her soft, fluffy white fur and tell her that everything would be okay. she blibnked snapping out of her daydream, and released a long sigh.

snowit shook her head, biting her lip to keep herself from sobbing out loud. "I-I d-d-don't kn-know," she wimpered. the pure white she-cat sniffled and blinked the tears from her pale blue eyes. she hardly remembered anything about her father, only the few things her mother had said before she died.

everestsnow couldn't stand to see her cry anymore. "it's alright," he soothed. i can be your daddy now. it'll be alright, just the two of us, you'll see. oh, please don't cry," he whispered, curling around the white she-kit.

snowkti gave into her tears and buried her head
in the tom's warm fur. she felt him curl around her,
and the act reminded her of what her mother used
to do to keep her nice and warm through the cold
winter weather in which she was named after.

looking up at him with wide, teary blue eyes. |
