elementalclan

history
there were once six cats who were all loners, exiled from their clans because they were different. all had caused a tragic accident. one's camp had caught fire, anothers flooded. an avalanche ripped apart anothers home, while one was wrecked by a tornado. one of the last two clans was surrounded in darkness, another blinded by the light. the cats that accidentally caused these incidents could control the elements. there was a bright ginger tom by the name of fireblast who had deep brown eyes. there was a she cat with a long blue coat and gray eyes who went by flowingriver and could control water. a brown tabby tom with light brown eyes controlled earth and was named earthquake. the white cat with blue eyes that went by windyday was a she cat who could control air. darkestnight, a black she cat with black eyes, ruled darkness and a golden tom with amber eyes was lightningbolt, who had power over light. because they were opposites and balanced each other, fireblast and flowingriver were mates, earthquake and windyday were lovers, and darkestnight and lightningblot were a happy couple. together they founded the clan of the elements, and vowed to learn to control the elements.

territory
the territory these cats live in is large and verydiverse, but for the most art it is a thin forest. somewhere in the territory there is a cave with a hard stone inside. it is called the elementalstone, and is used by connectors and the elemental master. in the middle there is a clearing surrounded by thorns and trees. in the middle of that is a tree used for meetings and the elemental masters den. thre are various dens of plats and earth around camp for the cats. there is also a very tidy den for herbs and sick cats.
beliefs
these cats believe in the lost elementals. these are cats that have died that used to belong to elementalclan.
traditions
if a kit is ready to be apprenticed, they first must go to the element room. this is a den that the elements cannot destroy. here there is a small lick of fire, a pool of water, a pawful of earth, a jar of pure air, a corner of darkness, and a beam of light.  whichever element the kit is drawn to is the element they will train in.
when an apprentice becomes an adult position, they show off their powers and quickly recall them to show that they have learned to control their element.
when a connector or elemental master is chosen, they go to the elemental stone to, in the case of the elemental leader, receive nine lives or, in the case of a connector, receive a special connection with the lost elementals.
traits
each element is known for different traits. fire are known to be quick, hot-tempered and strong. water are clever, calm and known for strategy. earth are known to be powerful, wise and strong. air are cheerful, surprising and quick to agree or change their mind. darkness are known for being subtle, encompassing and sly. light are happy, quick and surprising. some characteristics are shared by elements and some are unique.

ranks
main
elemental master- the leader of all of elementalclan. they control all six elements, and provide best they can for their clan.
successor- they will become elemental master when the current one dies.
head of healers- they are the top healer and know more then the rest.
head of connectors- they are the top connector and have the strongest connection.
multis- cats that can control more than one element. they are very very rare.
all six groups (fire, water, earth, air, darkness and sky) have:
element leader- the leader of one element. they have complete control of their element and manage the cats in their group.
healer- they collect herbs and heal wounded cats
connector- they have a special connection with the lost elementals and receive omens and prophecies.
hunters- they hunt prey for the clan
fighters- they fight for the clan
scouts- they scout out new territories for the winter months and build temporary dens
trainers- they train the young apprentices
healer apprentices- they are nine moons or older and train to be healers
connector apprentices- they are nine moons or older and train to be connectors
hunter apprentices- they are nine moons or older and train to be hunters
fighter apprentices- they are nine moons or older and train to be fighters
scout apprentices- they are nine moons or older and train to be scouts
trainer apprentices- they are nine moons or older and training to be trainers
young apprentices- they are between six and nine moons and learn to control their elements, along with learning the very basics of all positions.
cats without an element are:
kits- cats younger than six moons
mothers- cats with kits in the nursery or cats that are expecting kits
elders- cats unable to perform their duties
joiners- cats that have recently joined
