"Now, I'm going to walk slowly along the length of this stone, focus on the stick, don't get distracted by me or your surroundings, just think about the stick catching fire."

he nodded and waited for his mentor to start. he began to set focus on the edge of the stick that was closer to the ground.

Starting at the edge, Blackstar padded forward, passing a few foxlengths from Daggerpaw. He moved at a slow pace, to allow his apprentice time to get the hang of things.

i remember opening the window but i guess when i lost my browsers that went too... let me go find it to post on it now]
the tom then smiled as part of the moving stick sparked, and then eventually grew alive with flames. he watched as the heat went up the stick, slowly, flames lapping hungrily as it headed towards blackstar. he wondered if he should tell his mentor to be careful, or if he would just know to watch out.
[you know, it would be sooooo awesome if riverclan had like hydro (water power training) apprentices.. you know, like shadowclan has pyros. then in battle if a pyro sets a forest or something on fire, there could be a hydro cat to quench the fire c:
i think the main clans (you know, thunderclan, riverclan, windclan, shadowclan and skyclan) should all have an elemental power. like, something that they can use as a secret weapon.]

He had lit the stick quite quickly. Putting the stick down, being careful to avoid the hot flames, he turned to Daggerpaw. "Good work, every time you successfully light it, I will speed up" he said. This speed seemed easy for his apprentice, she as he picked up another stick, the tom walked quickly, on the edge of a run.

[well thats why (if you go to the fanclans plotting thread) i also researched wizard spells on wizard 101. they have more than five elements that could be used. i was thinking darkhearts would be like balance or something... idk, i'll have to look into that  the monarchy could be life xD] daggerpaw let his gaze follow it, shifting his weight as he turned. everytime he caught focus on the stick, a spark would ignite, however it was much harder this time because he couldn't keep his focus on it. he growled frustratedly and shook himself before trying again. this time, a small flame started, but the wind blew it out as a breeze rushed by. (i can't have daggerpaw be perfect all the time  ) |

Blackstar came to a stop. The end of the still had dark marks the dark mark! on it, but it hadn't fully ignited. "If you can't keep your focus on it, or can't see it well enough, try and picture it" said Blackstar.
(Yep. Blackstar sounds so weird. "just picture this stick in your mind..")

daggerpaw nodded, clearly oblivious to what his and his mentor's roleplayer were talking about. he then did exactly what his mentor said, picturing the stick alight with flames... sure enough, the spark came back and as he finally set focus, it ignited like a flash of lightning. a flame was heating up the stick.

The leader slowed down again. The Flame was small, but it would grow. "Good" he said, his roleplayer not sure what to have him say.
