Rainbowgleam watched with a small smile as the two apprentices discussed herbs that she had only heard of and knew nothing about. Watermint sounded vaguely familiar, but she couldn't quite find its image in her mind. She continued walking and padded a little ways away from the rest of the group to pursue a mouse she had scented. She dropped to a crouch and crept forwards, simultaneously watching her paws and the spot ahead of her where the mouse scent was wafting from. She checked the air briefly and discovered that the mouse scent before her was slightly stale, but not enough to notice from a distance. She angled her ears to a spot not far left from her and confirmed that there was indeed a mouse nearby, just a touch in the other direction. And she was downwind of it. Perfect. She carefully adjusted herself so that the mouse was about a fox length away, directly ahead of her. She crept forward slowly, her paws soundless as they pressed into the forest floor. Without any warning, she sprung at the creature, not even giving it a chance to panic before it lay dead at her paws. She murmured a quick thanks to StarClan and gently lifted the tiny, warm body, careful not to destroy it. Its mouthwatering scent filled her mouth and she longed to devour it, but, remaining loyal to the warrior code was more important to her than satisfying her hunger, so she brought it back closer to the others, buried it next to a large tree, and rejoined her patrol.

Rosepaw suddenly darted quickly up a nearby tree, turning invisible once she was hidden by the leaves from her clanmates. She leaped up a few branches, killing a squirrel before it knew what was coming. Rosepaw reappeared and climbed carefully down the tree and buried it. She parted her jaws to search for prey.

she paused a moment, a focused look spreading across her face. "yeah. we shouldn't wait too long to harvest it, however, but as long as we let it grow out some more it should be okay in a couple of moons."
