"Of course, silly!" Dovekit purred. "How have you been lately?"

Nightkit stared at Dovekit. She was being so nice, and it gave Nightkit a warm feeling. Maybe this could be her friend. She purred softly at the thought. "I'm great!" she responded, and for the first time in her life, she truly was great. "How are you?" she chirped excitedly, all her worries gone.

Toadsong watched the two kits through narrowed eyes. Who would ever want to have kits when being a warrior was so thrilling?

Suddenly, Nightkit felt as if she was being watched. She whipped around and turned her green gaze on the cat. Toadsong. He was just sitting there, glaring at her. She quickly excused herself from her conversation with Dovekit and trotted over to the warrior. She plopped herself in front of him and looked at him with her wide, innocent eyes. "Will you show me some battle moves?" she pleaded, her eyes even wider now.

Toadsong never really liked kits. But the shine in Nightkits eyes made her have to agree. "Of course, Nightkit. What do you want to learn?"

Nightkit thought about this for a moment, but then she knew the perfect answer. "EVERYTHING!" she said, "EVERY BATTLE MOVE EVER!"

Toadsong had to think for a minute. What battle move would be ok for a kit to practice? " Ok. Do you know how to play dead? Its a very important skill when in battle." Toadsong smiled.

"Ooh! Yeah! I do that really well." With a smile, Nightkit suddenly collapsed. She didn't move a single muscle, and her green eyes were closed. "Ish dish good?" she mumbled, trying to keep her mouth still so she didn't break character.

"Very well! I see your already very good at it. Oh, and you can get up now." Toadsong said, realizing that she was enjoying herself. Maybe being a queen wasn't so bad. " How about a Front paw blow." Toadsong prepared for the battle move, then struck the air with her paw, the wind from her blow sinking into her fur. " Remeber, claws shethed." She added.

"Hey! You guys can't have all the fun! Wait for me!!!" Dovekit screeched. Then she scampered over to them before skidding to a halt beside Nightkit.

Nightkit scrambled to her feet. "Wanna play dead with us?" she mewed excitedly, staring into her friends eyes.

"Ooh! Me too! I won't play too hard," the light-tawny cougar cub added. She was bigger than most apprentices, and the gentle she-cat didn't want to hurt her fellow kits. Jade usually hung out with her brother, Radiocub or her sister Ashura, but she didn't know where they were. "I want to learn battle moves."

"Yeah! Join us, Jade!" The she-kit was now bursting with energy, and she needed friends to share that with. She noticed Radio sitting in the corner of the camp. "Hey, Radio!" she called, "I still need more people to share my energy with!" That sounded weird and Nightkit knew it. They couldn't read her mind, so they had no idea what she was talking about. Or, she didn't think they could read her mind... "Come join us! Playing dead is F-U-N FUN!!!"

"er, uh." was all that the anti-social tom managed to say. he glared daggers at the kitten and let out a low snarl. "leave me alone." he growled. (is that a metaphor, simile or personification, kids?)
