Echo wandered the trees aimlessly, her blue eyes wandering, searching. For what, she didn't know. So she just kept moving. She heard water in the distance. Her eyes lit up. She sprinted towards the source of sound. She reached a river. Her blue eyes were swimming with excitement. She leaped into the water with a splash. Ripples spread around her. Echo paused. Where was she? There were so many cats in the area, some of them must on this river. She could be trespassing...

The black and white apprentice's ears perked as he heard splashing. He turned his head toward the source of the noise, and padded over. Seeing the she-cat from the underbrush, he stepped out into view, hoping she wasn't hostile. "Name and Business please" the tom mewed.

Echo stared at the tom, startled. Her tail was churning the water, but the rest of her body was still. "Echo," she meowed, her voice loud and clear. "I- I was just playing around." She was still a kit, 5 moons old, and then she added, "Please don't hurt me."

Padding forward a bit more, Timepaw observed the kit. "I won't hurt you, but you are in the territory of Riverclan" he said.

"Of course I am," she muttered under her breath, scolding herself in her head. How could she be so foolish? But now, she was curious..."Umm... RiverClan?" she meowed softly, "what's that?"

"We are a group of cats living together and supporting each other" Timepaw said, "Riverclan cats are usually good swimmers and fishers as well."

Echo perked up. She was a good swimmer and fisher. And support sounded like fun... "And you don't fight each other?" Her mother always told her that no cats could live together without attacking each other. Could she have been wrong?

The tom frowned, "no, we live and work together" he mewed, "sometimes there are enemies within the clan, but those are uncommon, and are peronal relationships between individual cats, but we care for each other."

This shocked Echo. Her mother HAD been wrong. Part of her was excited, but part of her wondered if everything her mother said was wrong. "That sounds great," she murmured softly, then sighed. "Your so lucky to have something like that."

Echo was shocked. Wad it really that simple? "I-" she began, then clambered out of the water before continuing. "I pledge my loyalty to RiverClan," she said, repeating the cats words exactly.

Timepaw nodded, "welcome to Riverclan" the tom said. "Would you like me to show you around?" He asked in a friendly tone.
