lightningstar awoke in his den. his eyelids fluttered open, and his jaws gaped in a yawn. the tom had been tired and decided to go take a nap for awhile. lightning pulled himself to a sitting position and let his eye sight return to normal. things looked oddly blurry at the moment. shaking his head, he rose to his paws and started for the entrance. something odd had happened. lightningstar had grew or something, because his shoulders were four feet from the ground. puzzled, he looked down, recognizing his awfully large paws for once. the tom's amber eyes widened in alarm, and he was over to the puddle in his den immediately, looking down into the surface. the face of the creature he called himself was unrecognizable. somehow lightningstar had transformed into a lion from within his sleep. oh starclan! how would his clanmates react to this? there was only one way to find out. and either way, they had to know. gathering all his courage, the newly transformed lion padded out of his den and leaped down into the center of camp. |

"n-n-name and business?" there was a lion in her camp. holy crap. and he didn't have thunderclan scent yet. so there she was, a tiny tabby standing before a lion.

"preemptivepaw, it's another power. just like how you have x-ray vision, i have multiple possessions." lightning said. his voice was unusually deep. |

well, this was embarrassing. preemptivepaw let her fur smooth down and her hackles fall. "oh, sorry, lightningstar," she replied girlishly. usually she would detest that shy little frou-frou way of speaking but she was shocked and embarrassed so she didn't watch her tone.

lightning laughed, which sounded pretty weird. like a mixture of a happy growl and a roar. kinda like how you'd expect santa claws to sound if he were to laugh. he shook his head. "it's okay. i'm just starting to get used to it myself." |

Nightkit tumbled out of the nursery giggling. She froze. There was a lion. Right in front of her. She blinked, but it was still there. "Crap," she squealed, her voice full of fear.

Having overheard his apprentice's conversation with the lion, he knew it was Lightningstar. "Your scaring everyone" he said as he padded over. Sunheart looked their leader up and down, impressed at both his size and the strength he must have.

Nightkit looked over to Sunheart. She was relieved to have a warrior there. Immediately, she ran to the tom and hid behind him.

preemptivepaw turned to nightkit. the kitten was clearly frightened and confused the way she had been just moments ago. "it's lightningstar," she explained. "he has a power that lets him turn into a lion."

Nightkit looked at Preemptivepaw, her green eyes wide with curiosity. "Really?" she mewed softly. Without even waiting for an answer, she sprinted back over to Lightningstar, sat down at his enormous paws, and stared at him. "Cool!" she meowed, her eyes still fixed on the lion/leader.

"I know. But I'm not sure I know how to turn back..." Lightning said, taking a good look at his paws for once. He smiled at the kit. From this view, everything and everyone seemed so small.

Nightkit leaped in circles around the leader. Then she stopped in front of him again, her eyes wide. "Ooh! Ooh! Can you roar?" she squealed excitedly, her green eyes glowing.
