She smiled and parted her jaws slightly to scent the air. She caught a whiff of squirrel and saw a rustling in a nearby bush. She flicked her tail in the direction of the prey to alert Shade before creeping towards it. When she was close, she bounced, but the squirrel noticed her while she was in mid air and sped away at lightning speed. She hurtled after it, heading back towards the area where she had left Shade. Eventually, it was too far ahead and she stopped, looking down at he paws in shame. Not her best moment.

shade had been watching her quietly, and while she looked totally disappointed, he was grinning in amusement. "hey, it's okay. we all miss our prey every once in a while." he said softly, nudging the she-cat in comfort. he decided to let her have a moment before he would have a go.

She smiled and all her shame was immediately forgotten. She stepped to the side to let him try.

he nodded to her and took off, zigzagging through the trees stealthily. he darted up a tree immediately, the strength in his muscles causing them to ripple powerfully. his mind was somewhere else, and his body almost shifted with it, however he shook himself clear and focused on the strength only. he flew up to a nest and as the bird he was hunting started to take flight, he leaped into the air and extended his paws, bringing all his weight down on the bird. they both landed on the ground below the branch, a bit clumsily, though with the bird dead in his claws. he shook himself and trotted over to whisper, setting the bird down in between them. "not my best catch, but the bright side is she has laid her eggs up there." shade said, talking about the prey he had caught.

Her faint purr turned into a laugh and she smiled at him. "Nice landing," she purred.

She laughed, her green eyes full of happiness. She hadn't been this relaxed, this happy, in a long time. She felt as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders. She soon realized that the last time that she had been this free was with Shadow. Immediately, the weight droped back onto her, this time full of guilt, and her laugh was cut off abrubtly as her eyes filled with sorrow. Shadow was watching her right now. He probably hated her for liking Shade. She suddenly felt hot with shame and let out a faint sigh. She forced a smile and ran off, returning shortly after with a small bird. She hoped that Shade hadn't noticed her sudden mood swing.
