Whisper sat in the branches of the Shade Oak, looking down at the sleeping camp. The particular branch she was on was her favorite, because she could see all of the camp but no one could see her. She suddenly wondered if Shade might want to go hunting with her. Why Shade? she asked herself. She had no idea. But he was the only cat she wanted to hunt with right now. She hoped he would come out.

as if the royal had summoned him through telepathy, automatically on que the dark brown-gray tabby padded out of the multi den. his pale green eyes were looking around the camp curiously, as if someone was watching him. shaking his head and letting out a sigh, he continued on to the tunnel that lead the way out.

upon hearing pawsteps and sensing a cat's presence, the tom halted and turned quickly, his eyes meeting whisper's. his gaze became questioning as he stared at her though soft as he glanced her over. curiously he padded over to her. "hey whisper. what are you doing up so late?" he tried his best to remain formal, however it was really hard.

"I couldn't sleep, so thought I would go hunting. Would you like to come?" she mewed, trying to seem like it didn't matter to her whether he came or not when all that mattered to her in the world right now was that he join her. The small space in the tunnel seemed like it would shrink and crush her if he didn't come.

the tom couldn't keep a smile away. it was as though he knew what she was thinking. "that's actually just where i was going. i couldn't sleep either."

She smiled. It was like they were meant to be together go hunting together. She slipped through the tunnel and waited for him on the outside.

She led him a bit up the mountain, pausing occasionally to make sure he was still following.

well she didn't have to pause, because shade would always follow her no matter what. however it did show how interested in him she was. and shade oddly liked that. it kind of sparked his ego, which didn't occur often. and apart from that, he liked her too.

She stopped at a stream which trickled theough a small cluster of trees. When the ShadowWhispers were first created, she had come past here. It was the perfect place to hunt. The moonlight lit up the water, and a few small clumps of snow glistened atop the taller trees. She turned to Shade, her eyes sparking with energy. She felt as if somehow, being with Shade brought her to life. She was no longer a leader, she was just a regular cat. She suddenly felt a sense of completion. She wished that this moment beneath the stars could last forever.

he stopped beside her and found himself gazing at the stars, his eyes eventually trailing over to the pretty she-cat. he found himself staring at her. just staring. though not blankly. it was like he was looking through her, yet he wasn't.
