Silentstar sat at the mouth of his den, his amber eyes staring sharply down at the moonlit camp below. His cruel gaze flicked to the canopy of trees above his head. He could see tiny specks of light, not enough to light up the camp but enough that he knew it was morning. He squinted against the light. He had been born and raised in the darkness, so even the tiniest sliver of sun stung his eyes. He squeezed his eyes shut and once they had stopped burning, he continued to watch the camp, hungry for action. |

Stormykit padded up to her father. "Hello," she mewed, dipping her head politely. She was the most obedient kit in the world and never got in trouble.
