lightningstar padded up, a little bit happier today, though nighty still a bit irritated and museless. he nodded to his apprentice with a smile. "today we're going to learn some hunting techniques."

Her green eyes flared with joy. "Ok," she mewed, her voice quivering with enthusiasm.

"first, i want you to show me what you already know about hunting." he said, flicking his tail in a gesture for her to show him.

She nodded and scented the air. She caught a whiff of mouse and her ears perked up. She located her prey, circling it from a distance until she knew she was downwind of it. She dropped down to a crouch and began stalking slowly towards the creature, watching the ground. She swerved ever so slightly to avoid a twig before returning her eyes to the prey. She was almost there. She took one step too far and the mouse noticed her, standing there stupidly for a moment before sprinting away. She let out a soft hiss of frustration and raced after it. It only got about a tail length away before she caught up to it, pouncing on it and killing it swiftly. She quickly thanked StarClan for the prey before bringing her catch back over to Lightningstar with a slightly ashamed, slightly proud look in her eyes.
