Dovekit raced up as she always did. Even if it wasn't what she thought it was, she was still technically 'old enough to catch her prey'. But if it was.... Dovekit's heart raced excitedly, pretty sure she knew what was coming. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself and smiled eagerly at Lightningstar.

lightning decided not to wait any longer. there was no more time to spare, and any cat who missed this piece of information could be informed later. "as you all know, we recently had a three day shaman contest and it ended yesterday. i've made my decision on who will be the new shaman apprentices." he let his amber gaze scan the crowd for the two most important she-cats. he recognized dovekit, however he did not see melody. he went on with the ceremony anyhow. "seeing as we have no medicine cat currently, i will have to apprentice you myself. and as for your training, we will see if we can work something out. dovekit and melody will be the new shaman apprentices." he could not do the traditional ceremony however because there was no medicine cat.

Dovekit grinned and looked around for Melody. Not seeing her, she turned back to Lightningstar and dipped her head happily. She had finally done it! She had become a shaman apprentice!

Melody's eyes blazed with joy and she emerged from the nursery. She caught Lightningstar's eye and smiled broadly. "Thank you," she mouthed, dipping her head. Finally, she decided that ThunderClan truly was the place for her.

She frolicked off and disappeared into her new den, deciding to check on their store's. "Hmmm," she murmured faintly to herself, sorting through the herbs, "looks like we're low on dock." She discarded a few crumpled, useless leaves and smiled to herself.

Dovekit nodded. "And horsetail. And a lot of other things, since there hasn't been a medicine cat in a while. We should dump all these old leaves," she added, pawing through a clump of old marigold leaves.
