In front of Darksoul was a ring, weaved out of long, flexible sticks and branches, as well as brambles and other materials. Each contestant would face their opponent alone in the ring, and though it meant only one fight would happen at a time, it meant that everyone could be watching, and not miss anything.
"Let the sparring begin!"
The Monarch's strong voice echoed throughout the surrounding area, alerting his clanmates of the event.
(Ok, so this thread is long overdue. Pretty much, here is how it will work:
-Have your character say they want to enter
-I will pair the entrants
-I will use a random number generator to decide the winners, or you agree with your sparring partner who will win.
-The winners will either spar again, or they will get extra credit in the overall contest so that this doesn't last too long.)

Stormpaw padded up eagerly and dipped her head to Darksoul. Even though she had not finished training, she was fairly confident in her battle skills. And she had a great mentor.

Galaxy padded up. "I would like to spar, please," she mewed to Darksoul, only being so polite (for her) because this was her leader. She hadn't ever been apprenticed but knew just about everything there was to know about fighting. She had been left to fend for herself as a kit in the forest, so her options were either learn how to fight or die. Of course, she chose to learn to fight. And she did, very quickly. She had fought many battles, most of which she had a disadvantage such as her size, age, or number. But she still won. Every. Single. Time. She hadn't been in a fight since she joined the Darkhearts, which was about 6 moons ago now, so she might be a bit rusty. But she would fight hard. Real hard.

Stormpaw padded forward. Even though she might not be quite as skilled as some of the other cats, she could still try. "I'll like to spar," she said, dipping her head politely to Darksoul

the guard appeared with a slight frown, as he was inactive a big one lately. even though he hadn't fought a whole lot lately and was rusty--as so galaxy had said--as well, he would still like the chance to participate. his blue eyes shimmering, he nodded to darksoul. "i would like to participate as well." as he glanced over, ripplestrike nodded in greeting to the she-cats.

Galaxy nodded as well, debating wether or not she could beat the tom. Probably not, but she would give it her best shot if she was paired with him. (how old is he)

and because of the fact that they were less experienced and--as far as nighty knew--younger, he wouldn't fight so hard if he was paired up with one of them.

"I'll spar as well" Ara said as she padded up, before nodding to the three other cats gathered, her gaze cold and expressionless.
"Very well" the monarch said, looking at the four of them. Hopefully more cats would show up to watch, so far it was just the five of them and a few NPCs in attendance. "Galaxy, you will be paired with Stormpaw, Ara with Ripplestrike." now his roleplayer just had to figure out the winners.
(This is how it'll work:
Stormpaw: 1
Galaxy: 2
Ripplestrike: 3
Ara:4

Stormpaw smiled at her opponent. Galaxy was a good fighter. Stormpaw would just have to try extra hard if she wanted to win.

nighty was confused slightly by the diagram lilli had created, but other than that she was okay. ripple nodded to ara as she arrived, but looked to the younger she-cats and gave them an encouraging smile.

(Um i was thinking Stormpaw would lose cuz she has less experience but will still fight well and isn't going down without a fight... Whispey that good with you? Although I'm totally fine with lilli deciding or whatever you want, whispey)
