Dovekit was bouncing around the camp, being the excitable kit she is. "Come on, Toadsong! Teach us!" Dovekit mewed.

" Ok. Now, first we need to fing something to practice pouncing on." Toadsong instructed. " Each of you find a pinecone." Toadsong found a pinecone only a few tail legnths away.

Dovekit scampered to the nursery entrance where she found a large pinecone. She carried it back to Toadsong. "How's this?" She said, dropping her pinecone at Toadsong's feet.

Nightkit darted to the entrance of camp, plucked a giant pinecone from the ground, carefully making sure that not even one toe stepped outside of camp, and sprinted back to Toadsong. She plopped it at the warrior's feet.

Jade sprinted off and found a pinecone the size of a small bird. The cougar pranced back to Toadsong, dropping the giant pinecone at her feet.

" Alrighty. I see you've selected some mouse- sized pinecones. Take them, make sure you know which ones yours, and...... where is Radio?" asked Toadosng. " Well, I will show you how to do this." Toadsong placed her pinecone 4 tail lengths away from her. " We are going to practice stalking your " mouse". Couch down, stick your tail up, and tip toe as quiet as you can til your mouse is a tail length away." Toadsong instructed. " Now, I will pounce. Make sure to watch me." Toadsong prepared, then jumped with all her hind legs strength. She landed neatly on her pinecone, and would have easily killed it if it were a real mouse. " Claws sheathed."

Jade put the 'mouse' in front of her and crouched down to the floor. When she was close, she silently took a leap and enclosed the pinecone in her large paws before 'killing' it with her wicked claws.

Nightkit lightly tossed her pinecone ahead of her and stepped back. She circled the 'mouse' until she was downwind from it. Then she dropped to the ground and slithered towards her prey. Then she silently leaped on top of it, clutching it between her sharp teeth and shaking the non-existent life from it.
