"Excellent!" Rainbowgleam said, "You're a natural!" She tried to think of any advice she could give her apprentice, but there was nothing. Rosepaw had done it perfectly. "Now let's try it over here." She padded along the banks to a pool of tiny minnow. "It's harder with the smaller fish, because they're faster, and you don't have as much to grab onto. Give it a try." She stepped aside so Rosepaw could get to the fish.

Rosepaw sat perfectly still. She didn't have to make sure her shadow didn't scare the fish because at this time of night. She saw the silver flash of scales and swiped at the place she anticipated it would be. A silver fish flew into the air and thrashed around. Rosepaw quickly killed it with a bite.

Rainbowgleam stared at Rosepaw, her eyes wide. "Wonderful!" she purred loudly, then she swept the water up with her paw and playfully splashed it at her apprentice.

This time, Rosepaw darted behind Minnowpine. "I have a shield and I'm not afraid to use it" she joked.

(u mean Rosepaw?)Rainbowgleam purred. "Come back and fight!" She leaped into the water, causing a huge splash. Water sprayed all over Minnowpine and Rosepaw. Her silver fur was shining with water droplets as she waded deeper into the stream.

Rosepaw jumped into the water and tackled her mentor, spashing anyone within 5 taillengths of her.

Rainbowgleam froze. Her eyes were wide. She stared straight ahead of her into the nearby trees. "Don't. Move." She warned, her face serious and her blue eyes alert. The water lapped at her side, but she didn't notice. She only noticed the forest.

Rosepaw immediately stopped giggling and straightened up. Was this real or was Rainbowgleam toying with her? Rosepaw tensed her muscles in case her mentor was fooling around and was going to pounce and whispered, "what is it?"
